It seems that Microsoft is planning to launch a consumer preview of Windows 10 after late January 2015. It has now started scheduling a ‘consumer experience’ event for January 21, 2015.
The event will be live cast and is also expected to reveal details about Windows 10 running on devices other than desktops such as phones.
Reviews of the upcoming version of Windows have been positive with many seeing the integration of Windows 7 and 8 features as providing the most flexibility and usage for all users. If Microsoft is able to bring Windows 10 to market across all devices at the same time it will quite a milestone not to mention a significant commercial advantage.
Windows 10 still remains a ‘preview’ release and shouldn’t be used in production. Correct continues to test the environment but this upcoming event indicates the Windows 10 development is running to timetable and it is likely that we should see a final commercial release before the end of 2015.
