The growth in online shopping is beginning to provide a real alternative to too many people and too few parking spots at your usual shopping haunts.

In years gone past the e-commerce experience suffered from poor delivery and inadequate communication, however that is changing rapidly. Each year I have a greater preference to do my Christmas shopping online rather than in store.

I suppose I’m lucky in that I know what I want. I have been using e-commerce for purchases for as long as it has been available and this year I can say that the purchasing experience was very, very positive.

Immediately after making an online purchase I received an email providing confirmation of what I have just paid for. Within a few more moments I received an invoice with payment confirmed.

From there I also received regular updates in regards to the delivery, i.e. when the package was dispatched, when it was in transit and when it was ready for delivery.

Now I know that all of this is quite easy to do with technology, but the real trick is getting all these steps working seamlessly. When you do, it really provides customers an excellent experience and confidence in your processes, and by association, your business.

Of course, security is always a concern when it comes to online purchases and you should always maintain a healthy dose of common sense and paranoia when it comes to using your credit card online. However, if you stick with major retailers then not only should your experiences be good but so should your security.

With the general online purchasing experience improving, the question your business needs to ask is whether you can improve your own process or if you don’t already have a process, how you could start taking advantage of the reach that the online world provides.

Of course, Correct Solutions is here to help with all your technology needs when it comes to effective online business. Therefore don’t hesitate to contact us on (02) 8831 8200 to discuss your needs.
