So it’s that time of year again, we are in what a lot of people call the Silly Season and I have to say I agree. We all try and catch up before people start going on breaks or try and fit extra work in so it’s out of the way, it’s also that time of the year where we review the previous year 2011 and what happened.
The tech world lost Steve Jobs, who in his life was an absolute visionary to the industry, but there were also many highlights in 2011. This year saw the release of some great new product versions – Small Business Server 2011, the iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Windows Phone 7 received the “Mango” update, Office 365 was released by Microsoft and Correct added a few more people to our great team.
We’ve also had the pleasure of fostering relationships with new customers, most of which you guys have introduced us too. That is the biggest complement we can get, so a big thank you for the referrals (and we are more than happy for them to continue). Your support in helping us grow meant that this year we made the CRN Fast 50 growing IT Companies, for the second time.
On a family/personal note, Lin one of our field tech’s and his wife Amy had their first child Angelyn, Trevor and his wife Kristy had their second child Daniel, and after 6 years of commuting the M7 each day, my family and I moved to Baulkham Hills a few weeks ago.
At Correct we have been working hard developing and testing some of the products we will be releasing in the New Year; such as
- Private Cloud (Where we can host your servers in a Data Centre on fast connections)
- Offsite Data Backup
- Managed DR Services (where we will take and keep a backup of your system in our office for rapid recovery in case you have a disaster)
- Hosted Firewall and Content Management
- Correct Security System (Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam wrapped into one service)
- IP Based phone systems
With a strong AUD/USD dollar we saw computer prices stay relatively stable this year, up until the flooding in Thailand that saw two-thirds of the world’s hard drive production disappear. We’ve seen prices rise sharply in the last 4-6 weeks; we hope to see this soften around the February/March timeframe. From all the staff at Correct Solutions, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
